Happy Monday to you all!

Doritos are great, when Salt and Vinegar just won’t cut it, a bit of Nacho Cheese always hits the spot. I’m a big fan. The only issue I have with Doritos are the inevitable caking ‘flavour fingers’ that you end up having to lick clean. This is fine if you are just then going to wipe them on your couch/pants/dog but dangerous if you are going for a remote/phone/lady friend.

Because the ‘Flavour Fingers’ make you unable to touch anything it’s surprising that Doritos have chosen to engage with digital content so strongly, with the release of Facebook based games and online video content. Battle Of The Flavours is very much like the famed Tippex Interactive Youtube page, where it allows you to select whatever action you would like the characters to do. Instead of getting a Hunter to ‘Seduce’ a Bear, with Doritos you can choose for Sweet Thai Chilli to ‘Seduce’ Mexican Salsa. give it a crack, minutes of fun to be had!

Their social media strategy has also extended to the creation of a short film, The rise & fall of Esteban Ortega, The Dip Desperado. The story follows the success of a young celebrity chip slinger, Esteban Ortega, who’s chip slinging is the fastest in all of Mexico. Esteban’s success sees him become a national icon, but he eventually succumbs to the trappings of professional chip slinging, such as fame, fortune and self doubt. Beautifully produced and perfectly cast, the short ends at a deciding moment, Esteban is now an old man who has been cast aside by the world that once worshiped him. Can you help the Dip Desperado regain his former glory?
